   You can not only see wingtip vorticies, you can HEAR them in comfort at the Green Man public house near LHR airport in England.

   Simply park-up in the pub garden and listen carefully AFTER the jet has passed overhead for the “wooshing” sound created by the tornado-like vortex spinning off the wingtips of older aircraft.

   The winglets of more modern plains reduce this fun noise… pity.
