Richard Blumenthal has repeatedly overstated his military service in the Vietnam era, he joined the Marine Reserves but never served in combat.

The former WWE CEO Linda McMahon, has reportedly been responsible for alerting the New York Times about the misleading statements made by her opponent and US Senate Democrat candidate, Richard Blumenthal.

According to Dailyructions.com, “The Blumenthal Bombshell comes at the end of more than two months of deep, persistent research by Republican Linda McMahon’s Senate campaign. It gave the explosive Norwalk video recording to The Times. This is what comes of $16 million, a crack opposition research operation and an opponent who … gave them the sword.”

Connecticut Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal surrounded himself with war veterans today while denying that he lied about his military record when he actually received deferments and served in the Marine Reserve.
“Now, on a few occasions I have misspoken about my service, and I regret that and I take full responsibility,” he said at a news conference at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in West Hartford. “But I will not allow anyone to take a few misplaced words and impugn my record of service to our country.”

Pete Hegseth, executive director of the Republican-leaning Vets for Freedom has his own statement out, saying Blumenthal “never set foot in a combat zone—even though he gladly perpetuated the politically-expedient perception that he had—and should apologize to real Vietnam combat veterans for this gross violation of honor.”

Linda McMahon is taking advantage of this situation as much as she can.
