It’s common for for people to claim a personal connection to videos, but the odds are always against it. According to another site:
Marines CH-46 “Sea Knight” all weather, day or night, assault transport chopper for troops, missed landing on the USNC Pecos, December 9, 1999, after the helicopter’s wheel engaged and was trapped in the ships safety fence.
Eleven survivors were plucked quickly from the water by crewmen. The helicopter sank so quickly that there was no time to rescue additional survivors. Seven Navy and Marines perished in the tragedy.
I’m in the Marine Corps infantry, in a helo company, and part of our required training is a simulation of this scenario. Now, I can tell you, personally, I had trouble on one of the rolls (there is a portion where you wear blackout goggles and have to do everything by feel and self orientation). That moment, even though I knew there were instructors down to help guide out of an escape hatch in case of panic or a lost Marine, was the most horrifying of my life. I wish that feeling on nobody, not even my worst enemy.
All of the crew died. My brother was in the Navy and knew the pilot.
that can’t be true
if it is or isnt…thats not cool
look at the front window you can see a guy reaching his arms out as it falls
