Well to my understanding if it was a public university, why was she turning it into a sermon? If she thought placing value on education was a sin, why did she go to college? Really, she was the hypocrite. She did give a good sermon though, but I have to wonder what was going on to make her act the way she did, especially near the end. Something was wrong, either physically or mentally.

Since when does graduation from a public university require you write a sermon as a speech? A quick prayer probably would have been acceptable, but if people want to be preached to, they go to church, not college graduations. None of us no what was going on with her, could have been dealing with a family death, or got involved in an extremist cult.
I am supportive of people having faith, but when they have to force their beliefs on other people continually, it only pushes people away from religion. And I don’t think a God that gives us life would want us to waste it repenting 24/7. I think he wants us to enjoy and appreciate life and try to be good people.
But others can believe what they want, I don’t care so long as everyone has mutual respect.
She did not show respect for the hundreds of people who were in there to receive their diplomas and get on with their lives

I agree with you to an extent, yes she is praying and no, she is not trying to convert the crowd. But if you really feel what she is going through, whats with the insults? If you really felt what she does, you should pray for others, not try to rub your god in peoples faces. People like you are why religion has a bad rep. Personally, I don’t believe in god, but I don’t put down on others that do, and I’m pretty sure that your god frowns upon such behavior. And don’t try to reply with the ‘I go to church every sunday!” Crap. I went every sunday for the first eight years of my life. Going to church does not make you a christian any more than sitting in a garage make you a car. Stop pretending.
