Not exactly flawless - there’s some instrumentation missing and a lot of the rhythms have been simplified - but awesome nonetheless.

He’s right. It’s not flawless, but nevertheless awesome.

        • Comment  by CameraMan

Yep. Technically it’s not PERFECT (You can’t replace the original, sorry), but it does sound AWESOME and the person’s talent is without question. Blow me if you don’t like the way i compliment. :)

      • Comment  by slygen

It’s a critique of the write-up, not of the player. Be less oblivious, please.

I like the reverberating snare better than the original, even.

This performance is flawed indeed. In fact, it’s so flawed it offends me.

      • Comment  by will

a man would have done it better

        • Comment  by Play better or STFU

If anyone can do better with 2 hands and a foot at the same time, then brag all you want/can… BUT none of you can, and none of you can play even half the instruments that she synthesized simultaneously, so basically, you should just stfu.

          • Comment  by TBC

That’s such a bull**** fallacy. According to your logic, you yourself aren’t allowed to have any disparaging comments, or even opinions, on movies, food, music, or literature because you aren’t especially skilled in any of them.

Of course, that’s all bull****. I challenge you to find an art critic that can paint worth a damn, a movie critic that can produce anything more than a bad BM, or a gourmand who regularly prepares his own escargot.

Peeps is mad cuz they think it’s flawless hahahaha

        • Comment  by SWMusicTheoryGeek

It’s damn close to flawless. Close enough that as musicians we call it “Arranging” she altered it VERY slightly to make it playable on a keyboard instrument. The ascending trumpet part at 1:40 is in groups of four 16th notes in the original but she plays it in groups of three covering the same number of beats. She also removed a flourish somewhere. It is still quite good.

        • Comment  by George Lucas

          It is flawless.

          • Comment  by The Wizard

Considering the original was performed by about 40 musicians, I think people are being highly pedantic to criticise how ‘flawed’ this piece is. Regardless of how precise this rendition is it was performed brilliantly.

          • Comment  by Prior

            I think you mean, “flawed”

        • Comment  by Greg Balls

“Girl plays a flawless Star Wars cover”. They’re arguing the description. Herp derp.

I love how she included the 20th century fox theme at the beginning, as if it was part of the piece. They’re so linked in our minds, its as if the fox theme is part of the arangement.

    • Comment  by SWMusicTheoryGeek

John Williams did that on purpose. The 20th Century Fox fanfare is in Bâ™ major and so he wrote the Star Wars theme in Bâ™ major too and Darth Vader’s theme is in G minor which is related to, you guessed it, Bâ™ Major.

awesome she is……republic praises her….blood of a Jedi she must be

  38. Comment  by Merros

The things that can be done with a keyboard amaze me sometimes. This is definitely a good demonstration of skill and talent at the instrument, musicianship, and musical ear.

That being said, I think it also demonstrates that the total control you have by actually playing the instruments being emulated sounds better. But that’s somewhat unrelated.

  39. Comment  by OhYes

    Haha not bad!
    I was impressed

  40. Comment  by Dontbeapickybastard

Here’s an idea. For everybody who says that her rhythms are simplified, that this performance wasn’t up to your standard, post a reply video of you doing it perfectly. And be sure to hold up a sign saying “Music Troll” so I know it’s you.

  41. Comment  by Jonno

Flawless, it was not. Very impressive and played to a high level of precision and skill such that it could easily be called amazing, and at the very least entertaining, it certainly is. The world needs more musicians like this.

It looks like she’s recorded it at half speed, then sped it up. I dunno, some of her movements look jerky, and her trouser leg doesn’t look right to me.

    • Comment  by garbarharyar

if she recorded it at half speed and sped it up then the notes would be too high, dumbass. was it TEH PIXELZ that gave it away?

  51. Comment  by jar jar stinks

Faked all of you complainers out!

These instruments have programmed drums beats and fills, but there is no way in hell that it would play the little snare of other percussive sounds on cue, unless the player had pre-recorded certain parts and played over them.

Go to youtube for yourself and see what these things actually sound like . . . . nothing like this faked one!

    peace!

  58. Comment  by CDD

Well, this was pretty flawed, wasn’t it? Definitely not flawless anyway.

  59. Comment  by Adrian

Yes we all know it’s not perfect F***faces, but the girl isn’t an orchestra, so in that case its freaking raw as hell.

  60. Comment  by milK

I have no idea how this keyboard works, but it made me wonder how she switches instruments while playing, is there a way to program it to switch instruments over time or something?

  61. Comment  by Guy101

You guys are just f***ing jealous, that’s why you’ll comment bad/negative stuffs. Grow up kids. -_-

  62. Comment  by Chhh

    asians are so cool!

  63. Comment  by oldguy

Hmmmm, first, she didn’t play all of that at the same time, some of it was pre-recorded and played back while she played the remaining instruments. So it is a bit deceiving. The piece of music would not be possible to play by one person, all instruments simultaneously — unless they had 6 arms and three feet. However, in all probability she did play all parts, just recorded some of it and played it back during the time she was playing the other parts. Good job, well done.

  64. Comment  by MOP

Very good, the best part is her perky norks.

  65. Comment  by Veddy Nice

That was epic. It captured the whole feel. Who cares if she did have some pre-recorded melody playing. That was still pretty amazing.

  66. Comment  by Aztec2step

  67. Comment  by usetheforcechewey

If I could do this, that is ALL I would do. Wake up, play star wars. Eat. Play star wars. Sleep. Repeat.
