Love the format switch between laptop and tablet, but there would need to be some serious fingerprint-proofing on that thing. Not to mention the keyboard would have no tactile feedback.
The entire surface could be made to have tactical feedback. We already know the display is flexible. Imagine adding a layer of foam below it, to cushion finger-presses. Now add audio feedback to “click” when pressed, along with a vibration from whichever of several pager-vibrators is closest to the virtual button, and voila! you have tactile feedback for a virtual keyboard.
Its a really neat and novel concept, but unless the hardware inside the computer becomes really tiny and/or flexible there is no real possibility of this getting off the ground.
I LOVE the idea and there is definitely some area for innovation on current products, but the likelihood that we’ll ever see something like this is slim.
