This stray cat is trying to reanimate his female friend who got hit by a car. Even though some people tried to help him, the cat wouldn’t let them come near for two straight hours. At the end a vet arrived and took the injured cat. Sadly, it was too late and he couldn’t revive the feline. Video filmed in Turkey.

that was so incredibly sad… and MAN it pissed me off to see that vet just yank that cat into that carrier. obviously the cat’s companion loved her so much… and to just disrespect the female’s body like that killed me.

He could just have easily taken the cat to the nearest dumpster and thrown it in.

That’s how cats try to wake someone up, I think. I’ve had multiple cats, both male and female, and they’ll do that to my hand to wake me up (like if they’re hungry). I don’t think he was trying to mate with her, otherwise he’d just plain out start humping her.
Hasn’t anyone seen a cat before they lie down? They “pad” at it with their feet before they lie down, which is exactly what the cat did afterwards. Nothing wrong with this video at all, it’s just sad.

I hope this is the case because if the male cat is actually upset over a lost companion like we are led to believe.. well no one wants that. Would a male cat lie down next to a female he was trying to mate with if he has no luck kneading her body? I’m a dog person and know next-to-nothing about felines.
I do own a cat so yes I cried. When my kitty hears me cry, sing or pray he will come over and put his head on mine.

People do die everyday. Those who die do get mourned and missed just as was illustrated in the video. What made it sad was that animals are generally perceived to have extremely basic and vague emotions such as anger, happiness, and sadness. However, animals are usually sad from events that do not favor their own materialistic desires so having an emotional relation so strong that sadness occurs when its partner dies is very relatable, hence the sad comments. I’m guessing you’re about 14 and not emotionally or mentally mature. “Get a life.” How ironic. I’m guessing yelling and crying on Xbox live wasn’t good enough for you? What about the people who are not mourned, the people who are not missed, the people no one gives a s*** about? Is it possible that people are saying who the f*** cares it is just a cat is related to the concept that thousands of homeless and starving children, something generally valued much more than a feline, die of famine, rape, and murder on a regular basis and people give little more than half a s*** about their lives? I have a feeling that seeing a twelve year old burying their parents and assuming responsibility of their siblings will draw a significantly higher amount of sympathy, yet we chose to ignore such things because mourning the loss of an animal that functions solely off of instinct is more bearable, plus seeing the aftermath of a young boy being dismembered or a little girl’s corpse laying in an alley after being brutally assaulted doesn’t exactly possess as much cute factor as kitties.
I very much doubt that the people watching this and saying f*** cats are the same ones being super empathetic to those missing and homeless people. How’s about this, if every idiot who signed on and flamed every video they thought was stupid or insulted people who merely commented that they liked it- if every one of those morons who make themselves feel better by s******g on everyone else went out and did one nice thing for those thousands of starving homeless people and kids, not only would there be a lot less starving people, but as an added bonus I wouldn’t have to see morons like you on every single page of the internet.

There’s no way the cat was trying to “reanimate” its injured friend - cats don’t know anything about CPR. The cat was clearly concerned about the other cat, and clearly showed some empathy (and for all you saying that the male was just trying to mate, then why didn’t he? No, it was pretty clear he was trying to help the female cat).
That being said, the mellow-dramatic music and the huge deal people are making of this is ridiculous. An animal died. Not a human being, an animal. Children are are being starved, raped, are turned into child soldiers around the world, when was the last time you cried for them?
Last time I cried for them? Last time I heard of an incident where one died. The difference is that most every person on the planet KNOWS how feeling (or unfeeling) humans can be, and thus doesn’t need illustrating. Far too many people however seem to think that animals are just “Dumb animals” with no feeling, no attachments, no emotion. And yes, but in some parts of this video this cat exhibited mating behavior, it’s an instinct that often gets “confused” causing male cats to do the same with other males, with doge, with litter mates, parents and on occasion turtles (I know)….. but in OTHER parts of the video this cat exhibited concern, morning, feelings of loss, sadness.
For all those saying its just a cat, people are dying every day. People are horrible creatures, and no matter how good of a person they may be they’re still human. We see people die every day, yet it is much sadder when an animal does. I guess its the inncence?

Cats are -not- capable of perceiving death. However, they are capable of love and empathy which definitely showed when this cat here tried to wake a friend, be it a mate or sibling is irrelevant, this cat obviously mourned its friend in the only way you could conceive; by thinking its friend was alive but merely sleeping. The cat is trying to wake his friend up (and much to his/her dismay…), hence the playful actions. Also: I don’t know why people assumed it was a male and female..
