A Cat Without A Brain Walking Under Its Own Power

Video

Description:

The cat was made decerebrate (his brain was removed) for the purpose of the experiment. This has lead researchers to the hypothesis that, when a quadruped walks/trots/gallops (or walks/runs in the case a biped), minimal control comes from the brain, and most of the control is computed morphologically through an implicit feedback structure in the bio-mechanical design.

This is totally f*****!! Thank God we’ve moved past the times when animal/human cruelty was okay in in the name of Science!

Yeah… I’m glad this page hasn’t already been filled with animal activists blowing their tops… So before anybody says anything, just relax and remember that we did alot of bad things in the past, but we were still able to use the information gained for positive use. While it is wrong, remember that alot of stuff we take for granted every day would not of been possible had we not taken advantage of a less then favorable situation.

I have grave doubts about the validity of this statement. No mammal can exist without a brain. The brain controls and regulates the heartbeat, controls body temperature and the respiratory system, not to mention the nervous system. That is one reason why brain death is the criteria for actual death.

No brain - no heartbeat, no breathing, no coordination of movement, no digestion, no life. This video is a hoax. Simple.

although all normal functions are controlled by the brain, you can still sustain the life of an organism by giving the electric signals for the heart and supplying a tube for air for the lungs. this is done quite often for brain dead patients, so that the organs are still alive for people who need transplants. as you can see there is no tube however the face does seem to be deformed which leads me to believe that they may have taken out the cerebrum, which makes the cat conscious, leaving the stem for vital, primal functions, such as those of the vital internal organs. i find this rather interesting.

Why am i not surprised? I mean, come on George w never had any trouble did he?
Besides has no one ever witnessed the headless chicken running around for 5 or 10 minutes after decapitation?
A worse scenario i read about was when some guy got guillotined way way back when they did that kinda thing and many witnesses swear that after his head was removed he was mouthing the words “help me” with a look of complete shock on his face. Makes me shudder thinking about it.

This is SO WEIRD! Not the video (well ok: it’s weird), but the dream I had two days ago! It was about my deceased cat, 8 months old. I found myself in a large animal-hospital and I was walking in a hallway with my dead cat in my arms, only she wasn’t really dead, just her soul. Her body was still alive and she began purring and making these walking movements. Then, when I sat her on the floor, she began walking like a zombie. Walking into walls and doors.. Then I picked her up again and she began to lick herself. That’s when I walked to a vet and asked him to put her to sleep and I woke up. And now I’m seeing this video of a cat with no soul but with a functioning body, walking on its own!

    THAT’S WEIRD!!
